this is to all my buddies who wanted to feed the homeless...
maybe we should stop waiting for organizing to happen, or just the right day, or a cleared area on our schedules. maybe we should just do. and experience. and give.
hey i go to monroe park in richmond and feed the homeless almost every sunday if yall would like to go just let me know and i can give yall the time. I'm not sure when it starts but we are normaly done by 9ish so i'm guessing we start sometime near 8, yea i know its early but it means you could still make to the WEAGS services if you want to go. trust me this will move your heart if you let it i know it has moved mine.just yet me know
hey i just got the time it starts at 8:30 but if yall want to go get there about 8:20 and it last a little more than an hour depending on how many people show up to get food. most of the time there are between 150-225 people there on a normal day but the numbers climb during the summer months to like between 180-275 unless its raining because of kids being out of school familys run out of money faster because now they have to buy breakfast lunch and dinner. i have met some of the smartest and most chill people there and i have seen a homeless person praise God more openly than i ever have before if you give it a few weeks they will start to open up to you and trust you. going one week will be fun but going one month will be dumbfounding the trust some of these people have in God blows my mind and yours to if you listen to them and remove the stereotype most everyone has in there heads
eddie! thanks so much for the opportunity! i'm sure we're all interested. i know i am. however, i've already committed to babysitting on sunday morning at eight. :/
